I was a classmate and a workmate and a friend for "Chip" as we all knew him. We worked at a small grocery store in the small town of Sneads, Florida. He was liked by all the kids and the adults in our community. He had the kind of personality and caring attitude that drew people.

I was devastated by the news of his death and still have some problems dealing with it. I did find a man called Les who was with him when he died through the internet and got to talk to him by phone. This was very therapeutic to me and I hope to him.

I want to honor both Chip's memory and also all those who put their lives at risk. I know that he did this willingly because of our last conversation. He told me that he was ready for "whatever happens". Thanks, Chip - I miss you greatly, my friend.
