A Note from The Virtual Wall

"A" Company, 1/3 Marines lost five men at Dai Do, about 5 kilometers north of Dong Ha, on 05 March 1968:
  • Cpl Eldridge J. Bath, Richmond, CA;
  • LCpl Salvador B. Garcia, El Paso, TX;
  • LCpl Gary L. Talley, Campbell, CA;
  • LCpl James H. Banning, East Hampton, CT; and
  • Pfc Steve A. Banner, Los Angeles, CA.
A mortarman assigned to the Weapons Platoon, H&S Company, 1/3 Marines, Pfc Gary W. Litton of Fort Mitchell, KY, died on the same day of wounds received from enemy mortar fire. The date he was wounded is not known and he may or may not have been involved in the action at Dai Do.
