I do not know this young man but he is a distant relative of mine and I think his name, like all of them, deserves the recognition of this site. Thank you.



A Note from The Virtual Wall

The 5th Infantry history for 1967 contains the following:

"On April 23, 1967, the 1/5th(M) secured an LZ in the area of XT 5331 for the 1/27th Infantry. The Battalion also secured routes of communication. Three APCs detonated AT mines resulting in two Bobcats from Company C being killed and three wounded."

The two men killed by the mines were SGT James L. Russell of Anson, Texas, and SP4 Stephen L. Colopy of Danville, Ohio.
