I was with Fox 2/3 and during Aug 1967 we had an operation in the Quang Tri Province and heard that there was but one KIA in the entire battalion. When I learned it was Levan I was shocked and years later saw his name on the moving Wall. Odd, how one can recall faces, voices and laughs so clearly after so many years.

Levan was an extremely well liked leatherneck and respected by all. I remember him as being married and I agonized about how deeply his family grieved about the loss of one as special as Levan.

I feel I can see him before me even now. I carry his memory with me and strive to do the best I can in all things and hope that what I have done would please him.
