Keith had just turned 20 years old by 4 days when he was killed. I think of him quiet often and hope to meet him in heaven one of these days.

Notes from The Virtual Wall

Corporal Colwell's family has advised there is an error in the DoD casualty file with respect to his Home of Record, which should be Austin, Indiana, rather than Austin, Kentucky, as shown in the official listings. The Virtual Wall has corrected our records accordingly.

Corporal Colwell died of wounds received from a mine or similar explosive device. The 5th Infantry's history for November 1969 states that on 03 Nov 1969

"At 1440 hours, Company A requested a Dust-off for one dead Bobcat and one wounded Bobcat from a booby trap that was detonated."
1Lt Franklin T. James of Baltimore died on 03 November. It seems likely that Corporal Colwell was the "wounded in action" soldier medevaced on 03 November.
