I never got to know Larry real well, but I will never forget him. There was an innocence about him that seemed out of place in 1969 Vietnam. It made his sacrifice all the more poignant. I hope it gives some comfort to those who loved him that he's remembered fondly by someone who knew him only a little.

The three men missing in action were recovered; all had been killed by enemy fire. The seven US soldiers who died in the action, which took place in western Kontum Province about 31 kilometers north of the old Plei Djereng airfield, were
