Dale was a great roommate at Tay Ninh; a friend who had a deep faith. After 34 years I still fondly, and often, recall this great man of inner peace. God must have had a pilot shortage too!

Major Freddie Dale Dickens, flying O-1E tail number 51-5001, was returning to land at the Tay Ninh airfield after a Forward Air Control mission when his Bird Dog was shot down just outside the base perimeter.
