Michael and I were schoolmates at Glendale (Arizona) High School. It appears that Mike elected to pass on his Senior year (1968) and enlisted in the US Army instead. Mike and I were neither friends nor enemies but since we lived in the same direction from school our paths would occasionally cross and I knew his name. The photo shows him as a Junior; it is from the Glendale High School annual 1967.

The Army records that on Dec 30, 1969 Michael Philip Dimmer died from a "Non-hostile, illness/injury, ground casualty, other accident". I was told that a fork-lift fell on Mike, crushing him to death. I do not know the specifics or details, only that Michael lost his life in the service of his country.

That he might not be forgotten...
