Rex was a life time resident of San Angelo, Texas. He graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1966 (the photo above is from the 1966 annual). He enlisted in the Army soon after. He was trained as a parachute rigger. He began his tour in Vietnam in December 1966 and was in his second tour when he was accidently shot to death. He was buried with full military honors in his home town of San Angelo. He is remembered by the Concho Valley Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in San Angelo as well as by the Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans' Memorial in Midland, Texas. May his sacrifice not be forgotten.
