My Uncle Pat was a fine young man who lived his short life laughing and dreaming like so many other young men. Five days short of coming home he gave his life in the service of his country. He died believing in his buddies and they have not disappointed him. Thanks to those who did make it home, my family has a fuller picture of his last days. No one understands war or death, but liberty is a principle whose time is eternal. God Bless you all.

At the time of his death, my Uncle Pat was serving in Delta Company, after having served also in Echo Company, beside some of the finest men I have ever had the privilege to have met.

God Bless all who lived and died in the service of our country.

From his niece,
Kathleen Downey Steinberg
