David Fogg joined 3rd Platoon, Delta 1/7 in December of 1968 where he was a member of 2nd Squad. In May of 1969 he left Delta to become a member of a CAP (Combined Action Program) Platoon located near our home base, Hill 37. On July 5, 1969 while on a squad size patrol his unit became engaged in a firefight with an enemy unit. David was killed in that skirmish.

David was a good Marine and a good person and is still missed by all with whom he served.

CAP 2-2-2
"War is our business,
and business has been pretty good lately"

That was our motto. CAP teams were not for the timid. Fogg was one of the few Marines who stepped forward.
