Memorial Day 2004

He was a loving son, husband, and father who gave his life for his country. His family misses him very much.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

Major Forshey began flight training in late 1951 at Bainbridge (Georgia) AFB as a member of USAF Pilot Training Class 52-G (graduated 25 October 1952) or 52-H (19 December 1952) and was a rated aviator.

At the time of his death Major Forshey was assigned to the 1131st Special Activities Squadron, a somewhat clandestine organization that provided MAC-V with a variety of services largely associated with special operations. The Virtual Wall knows little about his loss, other than it occurred on the bloodiest day of the Tet Offensive. Twelve other Americans died in Gia Dinh Province that day, and 146 others across Vietnam.
