6 Mar 2004 I only know of Arlin because he was from the town I grew up in and his name was called each year at the Memorial Day service. I later found out that my father and uncle knew him growing up. I spoke with my uncle when I was in college for a paper I was writing about the war and learned many things about the war, including how he felt when he heard about Arlin being killed.

 

A Note from The Virtual Wall Two men from C Company, 2/12th Infantry, died as the result of a boobytrap. Corporal Arlin D. Franken was killed by the explosion, while Staff Sergeant Michael G. Emeigh of Port Huron, Michigan, died shortly afterwards of wounds received.
