Pat Grella was an ordinary man who believed in life, in God and in his country. We sat near each other in high school and often talked about the war. Both of us knew that we would serve if called. Pat thought once about being a priest. I was in Okinawa when I learned of his death and for some reason I was not surprised. Wars take the best and the brightest and I think that Pat died in service to his fellow man and that is what he wanted to accomplish in life. Tom Westfall |
