Donnie was someone that everyone knew and liked. He had that easy going personality and he had a ready smile for all. I never knew him to be mad at anyone or anyone to say anything negative about him. He was one of my best friends and we had a lot of fun talking about girls, running around at night hunting rabbits, and all the other things young guys did. I still miss my friend and cry when I read the the military orders describing his and Johnny Dale Casey's deaths. Donny was killed in action on 19 January 1968 and Johnny was killed in action on 21 June 1968 while serving with the 101st Airborne. I could never have better friends and miss them more every day as I get older, something they never had a chance to do. Keep the faith guys. If there is a Happy Hunting Ground, we will be together again with those we love and those who loved us.
