Henry Hartman was a San Angelo native and was career military, having served 18 years in the U.S. Army. He first enlisted in 1949 at age 19. He died as a driver for a tank and was killed on the first day of the TET offensive. He had served in Vietnam for 16 months at the time of his death. He is remembered by the Concho Valley Vietnam Memorial in San Angelo and by the Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans' Memorial located in Midland, Texas. May his sacrifice not be forgotten.
