Richard Healy was one great individual who was willing to fight for his country. He was born in Toledo Ohio and went to Central Catholic high school and the University of Toledo. He went in the Marines in 1968 and was killed in the following year. He will be remembered always by his friends and classmates as one great fun, honest friend. Posted by his friend Jim Brucken. I hope others will post remembrances to his site.

This is a note to honor a classmate and friend, who paid the ultimate price in service to his country. God bless Rich Healy and all his comrades who died there. You will live with us in our prayers, in our hearts, and in the stories we tell for as long as we live.

A student, athlete, and a true representative of the "65" class of Central Catholic, Toledo, Ohio. Rich had the courage and character to protect his friends, family, and classmates. He gave his life for people he didn't know for their freedom. We think of you often.

Thanks, Rich.

My dad always told me how much he looked up to his brother "Dick".
Now that I have just returned from Iraq and having taken part in
the battle of Fallujah I know that he was a great man and
will never be forgotten.

Dick

As a young kid he was my hero.

My brother didn't live long in years, but what he did for so many others cannot be measured. He is still with me today.

Even today people still make contact with us to talk about Dick. People I don't even know. I have met some of his comrades and they are also wonderful people.

If any of you view this site thank you for being Rich's friend, and thanks to all who have written and kept him in their prayers.

Dick was the one his siblings looked up to in life, and even in death we still look to him. We were truly blessed.

From his little brother,
Mike Healy

I am honored to say that I was a classmate and friend of Rich Healy at Central Catholic High School, class of '65.

I remember Rich as always having a smile on his face and never saying a bad thing about anyone.

Rich served his country and gave the ultimate sacrifice, his life, and for that he will always be remembered as a HERO!

God Bless Rich and all the soldiers who gave their lives serving our country through the years!

This January marks thirty-eight years since we received the very sad news about Rich. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago, does it? In my mind he will always remain handsome and youthful even though in my mirror the truth of time passed is painfully obvious. (I wonder what he would look like today.)

Rich, I know you are just on "the other side." Thank you for your friendship. I treasure the time we shared during our life journies. I'm expecting you to be among the welcoming committee when my turn comes. See you then!
