Mr Hosea, you and my father were together on that fateful day on October 31, 1969 ... his name was SFC Thomas J Smallwood Jr , Panel 16W Line 10. I wish you both as well as everyone else would have come home safe. I will always remember your name because your rubbing from the Wall will be on my wall with my fathers'. Always in my prayers ...

A Note from The Virtual Wall

The 2nd Battalion, 60th Artillery, was a "Duster" unit equipped with the self-propelled M42 twin-40mm AA gun. On 31 Oct 1969 two men died when a bridge collapsed, overturning their M42 - SFC Thomas J. Smallwood and PFC Michael L. Hosea.
