Richard Hurlihe was my mine clearing "partner" in VietNam,
while assigned to my Combat Engineer Battalion in 1967-1969.
He was like a brother to me,
and one of the finest men I've ever known in my life.

I think of him often, and to this day mourn his loss.

I went to school with Butch. He was killed 4 months after I got back from Vietnam. I never saw him in a bad mood. He was my friend.

I went to high school with Butch. He was a wonderful guy whom I liked very much as a down to earth friend. It is hard to believe that so much time has passed since he died and I still think of him. I guess I was in Panama, enroute to Viet Nam, when he died. I will never forget the smiles and laughs we had together in high school. Friendship never dies.
