A Note from The Virtual Wall

From the 3/26 Command Chronology for June 1968:
18 June 1968:
     At 0700H, Company M, while providing security for the Thuong Duc motor convoys received several 60mm mortar rounds vic (ZC 193559). Intense artillery fire was returned but results could not be observed. Results were 2 USMC KIA and 5 USMC WIA.
Three men died as a result of the incident described above - two at once, and one the following day:
  • Pfc Ronnie D. Davis, Pleasant Plains, IL;
  • Pfc Jimmie F. Gentry, Little Rock, AR; and
  • Pfc David W. Jorgensen, Hilliard, OH (WIA, DoW 06/19/1968)
