It was so long ago that Ted (Captain America) died that it seems like just a dream. I can vividly remember looking out over the Ocean on the trip over with Ted and wondering what was in store for us both. Ted was drafted into the Marines and therfore was not like the rest of the Marines in my Platoon, we all wanted to go to Vietnam for reasons known only to ourselves, Ted just wanted to do a good job at whatever he was assigned and then come home to compete in the Olympics hopefully.

I will never forget when I was notified of his death, it has had a great impact on my entire life, he will never be forgotten, I'm sure that everyone else in the Platoon where ever they ended up in life also remember him to this day.

I accompanied Ted's mother to Vietnam a few years back and we both stood in the exact spot where he died, it helped her and I so much to have stood in his footsteps and prayed over the site. I will never forget you Ted ... Semper Fi!
