As time goes by ... it's so hard to remember. Your face , your smile, your voice.

You were a young man, going off to war, and I was just your little sister, admiring how handsome you looked as you stood there in those beautiful dress blues.

You were a Marine, just like Dad. Serving our country, America the Beautiful.

You died for our country, you are a hero, and we will forever be proud!

During the summer of 1969 the North Vietnamese Army made repeated attempts to drive Allied forces from the heights of Mutter's Ridge, which formed a portion of the southern boundary of the DMZ. On 10 August Echo Company, 2/3 Marines, lost at least 17 men in heavy fighting near Hill 484.
