Jerry was a childhood friend of mine growing up in Newark, NJ in the 1950's. He was my best friend and we never fought, but just had fun playing with the other kids. When I moved out of Newark in August 1958, at the age of 10, I never saw Jerry again. One of the best times I can remember about Jerry is when we cleaned up our apartment house's run-down backyard and planted grass seed, so we could play back there instead of in the streets.

Jerry, keep that lawn in heaven neat, so someday we can play together again. I cry when I visit you at the NJ Viet Nam Memorial. Sorry we couldn't keep in touch.
