Army Sergeant Sammie James Long, born March 18, 1949, was a beloved son and brother. He served his country with the United States Army and was killed in Thua Thien Province in Vietnam on November 29, 1970 after a year and 19 days of service.

He is greatly missed and honored. He was a great uncle to me that I never met but heard many wonderful things about. He will always be greatly missed and appreciated.

From his niece,
Lanell
