Jerry Markland was my first, and best, friend from my earliest recollections. I lost touch with him just before he went into the Army. I learned of his death while home for Christmas in 1968. I was always ashamed of not serving and was afraid to visit his mother who must have grieved terribly. Now I can't locate his sisters or any family to express my sympathy and sorrow with them. I hope others won't let Jerry go unremembered.
