Captain Mills was graduated from the United States Military Academy in the Class of 1967. In addition to being remembered on the National Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, his name appears on the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial. The NJVVM has one panel for each day of the year naming the men who died on that day. The panel for 11 June shows NJVVM 11 June
