Donnie grew up in Big Spring, Texas and was a 1968 graduate of Big Spring High School, Big Spring, Texas. He enlisted in the Army from Lubbock, Texas and was with the 196th LIB, when he was killed on October 12, 1970 by an explosive device. He is remembered by the Big Spring Vietnam Memorial and by the Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans' Memorial located in Midland, Texas. May his sacrifice not be forgotten. |
