A Note from The Virtual Wall

The 514th Quartermaster Company was a petroleum supply company which operated a tank farm at Phu Tai some five miles south of Qui Nhon City. On 05 June 1970 1LT McBride was the officer in charge of the tank farm when it was subjected to an enemy attack which killed 1LT McBride and five of his men:
  • 1LT Grady E. Mc Bride, East Gadsden, AL;
  • SP4 Robert J. Podnar, Reinbeck, IA;
  • SP4 Everett D. Ratliff, Baltimore, MD;
  • PFC Robert E. Cook, Honesdale, PA;
  • PFC Archie E. Trimm, Colton, NY; and
  • PVT Roosevelt Braggs, Painesville, OH.
