To My Very Brave "Big Brother",

I am very proud of the bravery you showed by enlisting in the service when you didn't even have to go. I was 4 years old the last time that I saw you and I remember that day, you were in your uniform and you put your hat on my head. I have been told that I followed you every where you went, I wish I could remember that too.

Well Big Brother, a lot of years have gone by and I still think about you all the time. I am married now to a wonderful man that I think you would have been proud to know. I have two grown boys that have chosen to protect this country of ours by serving in the Air Force. I hope that you and Mom are keeping each company and having a few well derserved laughs. She never got over losing you, you know.

I guess I will sign off now, but please know that you will be in my heart always.

Your Baby Sister,
Grace Lucille (Mitchell) Bible

Larry was my hero and it seemed that he had many friends. I loved my brother so very much. He passed away on Feb 2, 1968, just 7 days before my 9th birthday. I always looked up to my brother - he was my idol. He enlisted in the Marines to protect our country. I now have three nephews in the service - two in the Air Force and one in the Marines. I miss my brother so very much and I wish that if someone knew my brother while he was in the Marines that they could contact me and let me know. I still think of my brother so very much ... he is missed greatly by all. Thank you, Larry, for all you did for our family and country. I know God has a place for you in heaven. We have lost our mom and I have lost one daughter. I am sure you all have met in heaven and are looking down on us. Most of all I want to say I was and still am so very proud of my brother, friend, and HERO (Larry).

From a sister, as well as a friend,
