To My Very Brave "Big Brother", I am very proud of the bravery you showed by enlisting in the service when you didn't even have to go. I was 4 years old the last time that I saw you and I remember that day, you were in your uniform and you put your hat on my head. I have been told that I followed you every where you went, I wish I could remember that too. Well Big Brother, a lot of years have gone by and I still think about you all the time. I am married now to a wonderful man that I think you would have been proud to know. I have two grown boys that have chosen to protect this country of ours by serving in the Air Force. I hope that you and Mom are keeping each company and having a few well derserved laughs. She never got over losing you, you know. I guess I will sign off now, but please know that you will be in my heart always.

Larry was my hero and it seemed that he had many friends. I loved my brother so very much. He passed away on Feb 2, 1968, just 7 days before my 9th birthday. I always looked up to my brother - he was my idol. He enlisted in the Marines to protect our country. I now have three nephews in the service - two in the Air Force and one in the Marines. I miss my brother so very much and I wish that if someone knew my brother while he was in the Marines that they could contact me and let me know. I still think of my brother so very much ... he is missed greatly by all. Thank you, Larry, for all you did for our family and country. I know God has a place for you in heaven. We have lost our mom and I have lost one daughter. I am sure you all have met in heaven and are looking down on us. Most of all I want to say I was and still am so very proud of my brother, friend, and HERO (Larry).
