Ray, we were friends in Dominguez High in Compton, California. You were a great friend. After I joined the Army I saw in the paper that you were killed in action. I will miss you old friend, but never forget you and the sacrifice you made in the name of freedom. "Semper Fi!" Marine, you were a good Marine.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

The Combined Action Program placed a squad of Marines in a South Vietnamese village where they lived, fought, and frequently died alongside their hosts. On 20 August 1968 eight Marines and one sailor from CAP 2-4-3 were killed in combat:
