The database page for Stanley Victor Newman

I was a medic attached to B Co, 1/77 Armor, 1st Bde, 5 Inf Div (Mech). I helped to recover Sgt. Newman's body on QL 9 on the road to Khe Sanh west of the Rockpile.

I have a picture of me on the way back to the tank that I was riding when I got the call that there was a need for a medic. The picture shows me, the road, the position of the armored vehicles and the site where Sgt. Newman was killed and his body was loaded onto the medevac chopper. The picture was taken immediately after his body was removed.

I didn't know Sgt. Newman personally, but I feel very connected to him since I was there when he was killed. If any of his relatives would like a copy of this picture, I would be more than happy to provide them with one, and to answer any questions you might have.

Sincerely
"Doc" Guy
