Alexander Peoples was in my basic training company, "D" Company, 5th Battalion, 1st Training Brigade at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He was in the 3rd Platoon, I was in first. He was Selective Service and I remember is that he went about doing his best at everything. He always had a smile on his face and had a fantastic laugh. He was a southern gentlemen and a friend. I know he is in heaven looking down on us with that marvelous smile. God bless you, SGT Peoples!
