Patrick,

You were a great friend. We had a lot of fun in Hospital Corps School. I thought we would be friends forever. When we went over there together, I really wish we had gone to the same battalion. I wrote you after you shortly after we got there to tell you about 2/1 but never heard back from you. Your mother wrote me after she received your stuff. My letter was with it. I'm proud to know you received the Silver Star (posthumously) and are buried at Arlington. You died trying to save your Marines. I've visited your grave several times. I'm sorry you missed out on so much of life. 21 is so young to have died. Semper Fi, Marine.

From a friend and Corps School classmate.
