19 Sep 2004 Hi, Mike, a fellow Vietnam vet from our hometown, El Dorado, Arkansas. I was there in 1966 at Cu Chi with the 25th Inf Div. I just want to honor you and thank you for your service to our country and your total sacrifice. We honor all of you and miss you and love you from the bottom of our hearts. None of you did anything wrong, you fought bravely and honorably and brought that honor home to America. You are gone but not forgotten. I hope to see you in Heaven and have a long talk with you, of course we will be at the feet of the Lord. We salute you, brother. Amen. John P. 29 Sep 2005 I only met Mike Rasberry the day before, April 3, my first day with the unit. He was introduced as my platoon sergeant. I never forgot him, because he was shot as we were laying side by side. I've tried finding relatives with no luck. If anyone knows anyone contact me at Box 92, Seatonville, IL 61359. 04 Oct 2005 My brother, my star, my hero!! How did it all go so wrong? Almost 40 years... gone in a flash. I still remember every fight and every hug. I still see your laughter, that shock of blond hair and those sky-blue eyes. I still hear, "Don't let her date till I get home!" I still feel the shock of the uniforms at the door. I still feel the loss. I will miss you always and I never take for granted the part you (and all like you) play in my good old American way of life. I praise you and thank you ... and wish you were here. Your loving sister, all grown up and forever changed by you, wishing for a moment to be 14 again so I could say to your face one more time, "I love you." A Note from The Virtual Wall On 04 April 1968 elements of E Company, 3/47th Infantry, made a contested riverine landing along the My Tho River in Kien Hoa Province, receiving heavy automatic weapons fire as the Navy armored assault craft beached. Although the troops got ashore, they also were withdrawn after taking 13 casualties. One of the dead, PFC Steve M. Trivelpiece, could not be recovered at the time, and when a larger force returned later his body could not be found. The dead were SGT Jose S. Garza, Laredo, TX SGT Frank V.
