Lt. Ross was our XO for Bravo Company 2/5, 1st Air Cavalry Division. We were in Cambodia when we had an early morning assault on our position. He is not forgotten. He was a natural born leader. When it happened he and Capt Kimbrell were both hit with a B-40 rocket which was a direct hit to the Tactical Operation Center. He crawled to his M-16 and fired a full magazine before he expired, everyone in part saw and heard the effect that took place in the middle of our perimeter, there was a war cry that went up through the line, and we immediately took control of the firefight, once they had fired their opening salvo. It was a very low point in our campaign in Cambodia, we were not getting any replacements. Take Care Black Knight, May God Rest Your Soul Sir! And Your Loved Ones and Friends. Battlin Bastards, Scunion to the Onion!
