Looking through the pages of my old home town one of the first things that caught my eye was the dedication to a young United States Marine who was killed in Vietnam.

First and foremost what caught my eye was this man's name.

I went to Linesville to school and was friends with some of his relatives. Shirley was a couple years older than me and Nata, who I was very fond of along with the other Junior High cheerleaders.

I miss the old friends and am proud to say that I was a United States Marine who served for 20 years and retired with the Emblem of the finest fighting force in the world.

To you, John: I am proud to say that I knew your relatives and know that you did not die in vain.
