Paul, we are having our 40th class reunion in October 2005, we wanted you to know that we will honor your life that night along with all the men and women who died along with you. I can remember all the fun times that you, Pete and I had in the library at school. You are truly missed, my friend. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Roehmer - we loved Paul, you have to be proud as he did pay the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

I recently found my US Army Basic Training book from Fort Bragg and was looking through the pictures and names of those who took basic training (Company A, Fourth Battalion, First Brigade) with me during the winter of 1968. While looking at those pictures I wondered if any of our company had died in Vietnam. I went to the Vietnam Memorial Wall web page, checked all the names and discovered that Robert Roehmer had made the ultimate sacrifice in April, 1969. During basic training there is little free time to really get to know someone but I do remember Robert even if our time together was brief. I am planning to visit Washington, DC this summer and I will definitely visit the Wall and pay my respects to Robert Roehmer and all the others whose names are listed there.
