Lt. Ross was our XO for Bravo Company 2/5, 1st Air Cavalry Division. We were in Cambodia when we had an early morning assault on our position. He is not forgotten. He was a natural born leader. When it happened he and Capt Kimbrell were both hit with a B-40 rocket which was a direct hit to the Tactical Operation Center. He crawled to his M-16 and fired a full magazine before he expired, everyone in part saw and heard the effect that took place in the middle of our perimeter, there was a war cry that went up through the line, and we immediately took control of the firefight, once they had fired their opening salvo. It was a very low point in our campaign in Cambodia, we were not getting any replacements. Take Care Black Knight, May God Rest Your Soul Sir! And Your Loved Ones and Friends.
