A Note from The Virtual Wall

The 11th Engineers supported Marine forces at various locations, including Fire Support Base C-2 in northern Quang Tri Province. The 11th Engineer's Command Chronology for September 1967 includes the following entry:
"13 Sept 1967: At 0755H, M-16 wire tripped by friendly personnel C-2, resulting in one KIA, one WIA med evac and two WIA non-med evac. The med evac later died of wounds received."
The two men who died as a result of the accidental detonation were
