Manny, I have so many things in my heart to say to you. I've said them many times to you in my heart and to the Creator. You were a good young man and an excellent Marine. I think of you often, even after all these years. I hope that you know that Pete and I tried everything that we could to save your life and it wasn't enough. I would give anything if I could go back and change those circumstances. I remember that before we went on patrol that night, you had received a "care" package from home and you shared it with all of us (all except for the sausage!). You always had a smile and good words to give to everyone. You were my first KIA casualty and I will never forget you. God Bless you, Manny, for all the good things that you did before you left us!
