I was serving in Vietnam at the time Paul was killed... his father (a retired Army man) was a friend of my mother, and he arranged for me to accompany Paul's body home from 'Nam... It was an honor.

I was a member of a medical unit in the Mekong Delta... the irony is that I dreamed of a family gathering at home just before I got the news that I had been chosen for this honor. Paul was actually born in Waco, Texas.
