Sgt Spare and I spent a couple of months recuperating from our gun shot wounds on the island of Guam at the Naval Hospital from July 1967 to September 1967 when the two of us had to return to our units in Viet Nam. Sgt Spare was a happy-go-lucky Marine who charmed a lot of women because he was 6 feet tall and looked like Elvis. He was also very intense and was an outstanding Marine. We had said our goodbyes and made a promise that when we got back to the land of the Big PX that we would get together and celebrate. Wayne, you will never be forgotten. Semper Fidelis.
