E-mail address is not available. 2 South Texans Killed in Vietnam Two South Texans were reported killed in Vietnam by the Defense Department. Killed in action were Army WO1 Allan E. Stahlstrom, 21, of Portland and Spec. 4 Alberto Vasquez Jr., 20, of Orange Grove. Stahlstrom's parents are Marine Lt. Col. (ret) and Mrs. Harry A. Stahlstrom. Stahlstrom's parents were notified yesterday that his status had been changed from missing to killed. They were notified that Stahlstrom was killed May 10 when his helicopter was hit by hostile small arms fire, crashed and burned. Stahlstrom had been in Vietnam seven months and had served 20 months in the Army. A native of Cherry Point, N.C., he had lived in Portland six years. He was a 1966 graduate of Gregory-Portland High School and had attended Del Mar College one year prior to entering the Army. He underwent basic training at Ft. Polk, La., and flight training at Ft. Wolters, Texas and Ft. Rucker, Ala. He is survived by his parents and a sister, Carol Ann.
