The photo and following article is taken from The Philadelphia Daily News, special supplement entitled 'SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY,' October 26, 1987. Stephen attended Overbrook High School and Temple University before entering the Marine Corps in March 1966. The lance corporal was a rifleman with Company F of the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division. Stephen died in Quang Ngai Province, Viet Nam, on March 5, 1967, during Operation DeSoto. He was 20. Survivors included his mother and two sisters. SEMPER FIDELIS, MARINE!
