YET

The sky above seems normal,
yet, somehow strangely odd
as if the heavens above had changed,
beneath the hand of God.

It's now a different wind that blows,
yet, so very much the same
it speaks of strength for moving on,
whispers healing for the pain.

It reveals today it's deepest sorrows,
it's secrets and unnamed dread
yet, also of new tomorrows,
rest of peace for yesterday's dead.

Yes, a different wind blows free today,
easy answers it does not give
yet, an unspoken prayer upon the breeze,
sings of hope to those who live.

Thank you, Dwight, for your sacrifice.

I love you, Uncle Dwight, though I never knew you. You and your parents and your little brother are finally all together ... as for your sisters they're still alive and well. I really wish I could have known you. Richard talked so much about you and you became my hero for dying in battle like that. I don't know anyone who could have been that brave but I'll tell you that everyone misses you. I wish you were here to see me, dad said you would have been proud of me. You were an amazing person and I'm sorry that my dad was the first one to hear of your death - he missed you so much. I can't wait till when I go to heaven to finally meet you and my dad again. I love you!!

Your Niece,
~Kristen~
