I served with Joe Vesely and was his Platoon Sergeant. The night he was killed he had been in my squad and in my platoon for 2-1/2 years. This hurt me very bad. I could not get him removed from the field for 24 hours. Never met his family. I sent a letter but it came back.

Rest in peace
