25 Jan 2001 Thanks, DAD, for the sacrifice you made for so many. I am grateful to you and every other person named on this memorial for what you did. If it weren't for men and women that knew the value of freedom, none of us would be truly free today. Though my life is different today than it would have been if I had you around, I have been shown that trust in an earthly father is not as eternal as trust in a heavenly father that loves me more than any man could and yet will one day let us be together in His kingdom that will never fall or decline. Strangely, though I've never met another person that lost their dad in Vietnam, I can't help but look at this wonderful memorial with its 58,000+ names and continually think, "There are way too many names up there". Too many people affected and changed forever to let this be just a memory. To any who might read this and wonder where the comfort is in this life...... it is found in knowing the creator and trusting in THE savior, Jesus. Thanks again, DAD. I love you. A Note from The Virtual Wall On the night of 15 January 1970 a STORMY Forward Air Control "fast FAC" was shot down while operating in southern Laos near Ban Kate. Major Tommy Warren and 1stLt R. D. LeBlanc, flying F-4D tail number 66-8820, were hit in the forward fuselage by ground fire. LeBlanc ejected successfully and was picked up the following morning by SAR forces, but Major Warren did not leave the aircraft. Major Warren's body was recovered and he is buried in Site 955, Section V, Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
