My brother, my best friend, I was only 11 when you died but it seems like only yesterday. Now, a grown man of 43, with a family of my own and another addition expected in June, I still grieve. I have trouble letting go of my best friend and brother, you. The pain still exists and the tears still come each time my thoughts reflect to a life without you. I wonder of the man that I am versus the man that I would have been if you were here. Our children playing with each other and you and I spending time together as brothers, best friends, should.

Instead, I have only thoughts of how it should of been and memories of how it really is. They say time is a great healer but it has been 32 years and I still feel the pain of your loss. I tell my family of and how great you were but it doesn't do justice to actually being with you.

I hope when all is said and done, and our paths cross in Heaven, that you are truly proud of the man I've become, the man you helped to mold. One of the greatest compliments I could receive is for someone to say to me, "You are just like your brother was".

Sadly missed and always remembered,
Rod Wheeler
