13 Apr 2002 Corporal Stan (Ski) Zalewski entered the United States Marine Corps in 1962 at the age of 17. He served with Delta Company, 3rd Recon Battalion from May 1965 until he was wounded in action in October 1965. He returned to Vietnam on 01 December 1967, serving until his death on 10 April 1968. A Note from The Virtual Wall The Marine Wing Headquarters Group ONE Command Chronology for April 1968 contains the following entry: "Corporal Stanley ZALEWSKI Jr. 1997086/0311 USMC was fatally wounded, non-battle connected, on 10 April 1968. An Article 32 investigation is being held in connection with this death."
