As part of Operation NAPOLEON/SALINE, the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment took casualties on March 1 and 2, 1968. M Company took 13 killed on 1 March 1968. They were: LCpl Ricky Fay Adams, Baldwin Park, California SSgt Stephen Joseph Bobkovich, Akron, Ohio Cpl Arthur Lee Brunt, Valdosta, Georgia Cpl Bertram Anthony Deso, Albany, New York SSgt Edwin Ray Edwards, Inman South Carolina Pfc Richard Lee Garlick, Aurora Illinois Pfc Carlos Luis Gonzales, New York, New York 2nd Lt Richard Worrell Kapp, Orangeburg, South Carolina Pfc Danny x Ledford, Belmont, North Carolina Pfc Gerald William Markwith, Federal Way, Washington Pfc Richard Dennis Miller, Memphis, Tennessee Pfc Thomas x Spadaro, New York, New York HM3 Anthony Odell Stringer, Rockmart, Georgia Ricky Fay Adams was survived by his mother Elizabeth Helen (Houchins) (1922-2000), father Lloyd Ardell Adams (1918-1972), sister Mrs. Annette (Clinton) McKetrick, and five brothers Scott (1940-1991), James, Dennis, Larry, and Steven. Ricky and his parents are all buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa. His brother Scott was cremated. - - The Virtual Wall, May 25, 2020
